Indian National Conference on National Agenda - Problems and Solutions

The National Centre for Science Communicators was established in 1997 with a view to facilitating improvement in Science and Technology communications in India. The Centre provides opportunities for Science communicators to explore and express their talents and creativity and also recognises such talents.

Presently, the membership strength of NCSC is over 200 members across the country. The NCSC is organising a National Conference on National Agenda - Problems and Solutions, in December 2008, in honor of Dr. P.M. Bhargava, a nationally and internationally known scientist, creative writer, rational thinker, strategic institution builder and an astute science administrator.

He is widely regarded as the architect of modern biology and biotechnology in India. 

The conference, which is open to professionals from the fields of agriculture, medicine, and ccience communication, will be held between 12-14 December 2008 in the Auditorium of the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Uppal Road, Tarnaka, Hyderabad- 500007.

In addition to highlighting the significant contributions of Dr. P.M. Bhargava, the National Conference on Problems and Solutions will have a felicitation function followed by three sessions that will focus on the following topics:

  • Agriculture
  • Health
  • Scientific Temper
  • New Biology & Society

About 250 Science Communicators, Researchers, Educationists and Students from India, will attend this National Conference.

Registration fees

Students: 500 rupees. NCSC members: 1,000 rupees. Others: 1,500 rupees. The registration fee includes conference kit, lunches, tea/coffee and conference dinner.

Registration details

All those who are interested may please confirm their participation in the conference requesting a registration/ booking of accommodation form from the general secretary and mailing it to the General Secretary, latest by 30 September 2008. Registration fee is payable by DD favouring "National Centre for Science Communicators' Payable at Mumbai. 

All the participants will be accommodated in guest houses/hostels in shared rooms. Family accommodation may not be available in the guest houses/hostels.
